VocaBO

Vocabolario di Boccaccio online

Type of project: National  |  Start date: 06/07/2023  |  End date: 05/07/2028

The VocaBOIl Vocabolario di Boccaccio online project aims to create the first digital vocabulary of Boccaccio’s writings starting with the Decameron.

VocaBO is promoted by the Ente Nazionale Giovanni Boccaccio together with the Università per Stranieri di Siena, in collaboration with Cnr-Istituto di Linguistica Computazionale “Antonio Zampolli” (CNR-ILC) and the Accademia della Crusca.

The editing of lexicographic entries is supported by innovative technological resources for digital lexicography, developed by the KLAB (Knowledge, Lexica and Applications Bridging) research group of CNR-ILC.

In this new tool, the entries are connected not only with the annotated textual corpus but also with the words meaning networks and the conceptual fields to which they pertain (ontology), thus enabling the interconnection and integration between the various levels of the linguistic analysis (entries / corpus / ontology).
