ILC Spring Seminar 25/06/2015

Title:
Semantic enrichment of TEI digital editions, detection and disambiguation of authors’ mentions in literary criticism texts
Date:
25/06/2015
Town:
Pisa
Venue:
ILC-CNR – Aula Seminari IBF SG 5
Description:
The talk will start with a brief introduction on my stay at Labex OBVIL and on the researches conducted within this laboratory in the framework of my FMSH fellowship. I shall then introduce more in detail the works related to named entity recognition, classification and linking, with a specific focus on the annotation of authors’ mentions within the “Corpus Critique”, a diachronic corpus of French literary criticism, published as a digital edition by Labex OBVIL. The developed algorithms, based on supervised and unsupervised approaches, massively exploit both generic (DBpedia) and domain-specific (BnF) knowledge bases published as linked data; the goal of these tools is to help the production of annotated textual resources that can facilitate research on the history of literary criticism and the history of ideas more generally. Finally, I shall discuss open avenues of research that can become possibilities of joint research between ILC and Labex OBVIL.
