NINFA

iNtelligent Integrated Network For Aged people

Type of project: National  |  Start date: 01/01/2014  |  End date: 31/12/2018

NINFA is a subproject of the national project “Invecchiamento: innovazioni tecnologiche e molecolari per un miglioramento della salute dell’anziano”.

It aims to analyze and propose solutions to the problems concerning the application of Information and Communication Technology for an active and healthy ageing and the monitoring of cognitive and motor impairments and of rehabilitation therapies.

The analysed context is the one concerning a group of aged users, or “virtual neighbours”, accessing assistive technology solutions at home by a Home Health Network connected in a network architecture (Village Network) to a Service Centre that, through proper home interfaces, delivers specific “at home” services (such as, for instance, motor/cognitive rehabilitation exercises, social networking, gaming, remote assistance, critical life events prevention).

The project addresses the acceptability of new Information and Communication Technology, the evaluation of the users’ wellness status and the management of critical events with a minimum impact on the users during the delivery of at home services, through different solutions, mainly focused on aspects concerning the end users.
