Preliminary Recommendations

Reflexive (Pronoun)

In Italian, the reflexive pronouns are represented by `mi', `ti', `si', `sé', `ci', `vi', `si'. They are inflected for Person and Number, while Gender is not pertinent.

For the third singular and plural persons, in addition to `si', the tonic form `sé' can be used: ``egli si lava''; ``egli lava (stesso)''; ``esse aiutano solo (stesse)''. Sé can be reinforced by the adjective `stesso': in this case the bigram ``sé stesso'' should be encoded on the basis of multiword expression tagging strategy.

Reflexive
GenderNumber It. example It. tag
1s mi PF/nn1s
2s ti PF/nn2s
3s si, sé PF/nn3s
1p ci PF/np1p
2p vi PF/np2p
3s si PF/nn3p

Formally, reciprocal pronouns are the same as reflexive pronouns.
