Finiteness and Verb-form/Mood

As in the case of Italian, there is no specific encoding for the Finiteness feature, which is self-contained in the mood information.

In French, the word forms allow for much of the disambiguation between moods, tenses, etc. When there is ambiguity (e.g. between present indicative and present subjunctive), the type of modelling involved with the IBMF tagset (i.e. stochastic tri-pos) would be unable to decide anyway. This is why the IBMF tagset does not distinguish all main moods/tenses, only infinitive, participle, and the rest (`VERB').
