The
aim of the 4th Conference on Language Resources
and Evaluation (LREC 2004) is to provide an overview
of the state-of-the-art, discuss problems and opportunities,
exchange information regarding LRs, their applications,
ongoing and planned activities, industrial uses and
needs, requirements coming from the new e-society,
both with respect to policy issues and to technological
and organisational ones. LREC 2004 has also elaborated
on evaluation methodologies and tools, explored the
different trends and promoted initiatives for international
collaboration in the areas mentioned above. LREC 2004
took place in Lisbon. The main conference was held
on 26th-28th May 2004. Pre-conference
and post-conference workshops were held on 24th-25th
May 2004 and on 29th-30th May
2004.
