MULTILEX proposes two classes, Misc and None, for words for which it is unclear what category should be assigned and for words to which no category should be assigned. It can be argued that these two categories should be mapped onto the Residual class proposed here.
In NERC, Foreign Words were kept apart from the Rest group and treated as a separate category, since the former may behave in a different way, syntactically.
