Definite pronouns

The definite pronouns are actually adjectives which function as pronouns when the following conditions are fulfilled:

• `idhios' must be preceded by the definite article, and it must follow or it must precede the noun it refers to, which has to have the definite article:

  ``Eghw y idhia tha to kanw''
  or
  ``O idhios o Takys tha to kanei''
  

• `monos' must appear without an article and must be followed by one of the possessive pronouns:

  ``Efughe monos tou''

Therefore, they are coded in the Morphological lexicon as adjectives and their recognition as Pronouns depends on the use of a multiword tagger.
