Application to Irish

The indicative adjectives (possessive, demonstrative and ordinal adjectives) are treated as determiners on syntactic grounds, and likewise indicators of quantity and reference-determiners based on discourse properties, such as `céanna' (`same') and `eile' (`other'). The broader treatment of adjectives, which would include the indicators as a special type, is possible also, and is in fact the standard presentation in grammar books. By taking the restrictive view of adjectives, as is done in MULTILEX, the only attributes that need be considered are Degree, Gender, Case and Number.
