Preliminary Recommendations

Gender

There are two pairs of values for this feature, i.e. on the one hand nonneuter vs. neuter, on the other hand masculine vs. nonmasculine. The first pair is only applicable to indefinite adjectives and is governed by the grammatical gender of the head of the noun phrase or the subject of the clause. The second pair is only applicable to definite adjectives (not superlatives) and is governed by the semantic gender of the head of the noun phrase, or by the natural sex of the underlying concept, in the case of nominalisations.
