Some relevant aspects for lexicon specifications

We deal in this section with a number of aspects that are of relevance as introductory general remarks with respect to the goal of providing a common core of lexicon specifications.

The issues that we want briefly to discuss concern aspects such as the relationship between lexicon specifications and corpus tagsets, the concept of common category, the objects that are described and the level of description, the descriptive approach (general vs. language specific) and its implications for problems such as monotonicity, redundancy, etc., the introduction of constraints at the language-specific level, and so on.
