Central semantic of value preposition

  1. A preposition is an invariable morphological unit which introduces a syntactic constituent which has a different syntactic function from the constituent which preceeds the preposition.

Given NP a nominal syntagm, If 'X+SN' succeeds, and if NP has a different syntactic function or a different semantic role than the syntactic constituent that preceeds X, X is a preposition.
