Transcategorization phenomena with other pos-values

There are members of other PoS which can carry morphological and syntactic features of the nouns. They can:

- be inserted in an NP: l'agire
- cooccur with the adj: un ricco egoista
- govern a PP: il bello della vita

Transcategorization phenomena or confusions can be made between the pos values noun and adjective, noun and verb, noun and conjunction, noun and adverb, noun and determiner, noun and pronoun, noun and numeral, noun and interjection.

Antoher typical transcategorization phenomenon verifies when the possessive pronoun is used absolutely as a noun, becoming synonymous of the understood noun itself and giving rise to a sort of fixed expressions. Some dictionaries/grammars do not account for this phenomenon among the delimitation problems between pronoun and noun but still consider the absolute use as a pronominal one.
