Funded by the European Commission in the framework of the “Safer Internet Action Plan”, POESIA is a project that aims at developing, testing, evaluating and promoting a fully open-source, updated and extensible software solution for catching and filtering offensive material (pornography, violence etc.) which is available in the Internet.<\/p>\n
The POESIA system will filter several channels (the World Wide Web, E-mail and News), by combining highly innovative technologies to achieve more effective results than the ones obtained by means of the products existing in the market.<\/p>\n
The filtering process will cover a wide range of modalities (images, texts, URLs, PICs and JavaScript).<\/p>\n
The filtering solution will be developed in English, Italian and Spanish but, being it fully open-source, it will be able to be extensed to other languages.<\/p>\n
The objective of the project is to make the POESIA system become the standard filtering solution deployed in a school and\/or home environment.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
