The European Cloud for Heritage OpEn Science (ECHOES) project, funded for five years (2024 – 2029) under the Horizon Europe programme, aims to create the European Collaborative Cloud for Cultural Heritage (ECCCH), a European reference platform for tangible and intangible cultural heritage professionals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ECHOES is led by the CNRS<\/a> (Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique, France) and together with the CNR<\/a> and the FSP<\/a> (Fondation des Sciences du Patrimoine, France) has formed a consortium of 51 European partners, including: research organisations, networks representing cultural heritage communities (museums, libraries, archives, restoration, etc.), universities and private sector entities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ECHOES aspires to create the infrastructure and legal entity of the cloud in collaboration with and for cultural heritage communities. ECHOES promotes a holistic approach to digital transformation, encouraging collaborative knowledge construction. Through a transparent governance approach and the application of open science principles (FAIR), ECHOES will also integrate other European and national projects within the cloud. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

CNR-ILC <\/strong>participates in ECHOES alongside CLARIN ERIC<\/a>, to ensure the creation of a truly multilingual ECCCH, where language and text (as immaterial cultural objects) are included, documented and connected to other cultural heritage artifacts.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
