We begin with a general overview of the comprehension and production of compound words, as well as a discussion of the importance of semantic transparency for psycholinguistic theories of morphologically complex words. Next, we will present empirical evidence from a typing task. This task was used to measure the written production of compounds, pseudo-compounds, and monomorphemic words on a letter-by-letter basis. In our analyses, we examined whether semantic transparency and morphological structure predict typing latencies. Our results indicate that written production is sensitive to morphemic structure and to the semantic transparency of the first constituent.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
