Validation

Validation actions test the practical applicability of the proposals in concrete LE applications. This testing phase is carried out in different modes for different action lines, as previously explained, both inside the EAGLES consortium and outside it with the involvement of external projects or groups. The following modes of validation have been adopted:

LE EAGLES internal validation
-- by application of the guidelines to different languages, with the assistance of consultants, both in the Lexicon and Integration WPs. This involves consultation processes, iterations in the building of stable proposals and, most importantly, broadening of the consensual base.

External validation
-- conducted through dissemination by the Co-ordinating body and the responsible partners, by involving, at an early stage of development of the proposals and in the stage of testing the proposals, a number of LE projects or other user groups. This produces a spiralling mode of development of guidelines which are constantly revised and updated on receipt of feedback from real usage in practical applications.

For the Evaluation Working Group, given the slightly different nature of their work, validation is being carried out in three ways, through

  1. Attendance at the workshops;
  2. Requests for the EWG's reports;
  3. The facility with which the material collected can eventually be included in the Evaluator's Workbench.
