Multidisciplinary Features of Collaborations

The interdisciplinary features of Computational Linguistics is reflected in the types of collaborations that ILC has activated over the years and that are comprised among various knowledge domains. We can distinguish three levels of collaboration:

  • research groups operating in the field of Computational Linguistics, located either in Departments of Computer Science or of Linguistics;
  • the humanistic disciplines sharing the object of study - i.e. the language in its different manifestations - with Computational Linguistics. These disciplines range from Linguistics, Italian Linguistics, Sociolinguistics, Dialectology and Philology, to the History of Literature or Philosophy;
  • all the disciplines that can benefit from the technologies implemented in the sector of computational linguistics for the management of the single documentary bases. Even in the digital age language remains the primary key of access and the most natural vehicle of information.
