Legal Issues

Recording speech is potentially an invasion of privacy, and countries have enacted various types of legislation to control it. Subject to the possibility of national laws overriding these remarks, surreptitious recordings should contain nothing that might identify participants (except voiceprint, which is inescapable). Volunteers should be asked to sign as agreeing to participate.
