How to distinguish different kinds of raising verbs

Two different kinds of raising verbs must be distinguished: subject-raising verbs and object-raising verbs. It is proposed that this distinction is specified explicitly, by replacing the value raising-verb by two values: subject-raising-verb and object-raising-verb. No more is necessary, and perhaps even this is already redundant (since a raising verb which takes a direct object is necessarily an object-raising verb, and a raising verb which takes no direct object is a subject-raising verb).
