- A relative pronoun has an antecedent in the main clause and
realizes a verb argument of the clause in which it occurs.
Exception: The relative pronoun quiconque has no antecedent.
Given X a pronoun, P the main clause and P' the clause in which X occurs, if X realizes a the position
of a verb argument of P' and if X has an antecedent in P, X is a relative pronoun.
- L'homme que /pos=p & type=rel tu vois est mon ami / l'homme is antecedent;
que realizes an argument of the verb voir
- Elle lui donne ce dont /pos=p & type=rel il a besoin /
ce is antecedent; dont realizes an argument of avoir besoin
