Overall cost-effectiveness of EAGLES

Work that otherwise would have been expensively distributed and duplicated over several projects (and that probably would not have thus been adequately accomplished) has been done just once within EAGLES in a collaborative manner, at a reduced cost. A great deal of effort has thereby been provided for a relatively small investment.

Projects currently have a framework, with EAGLES, that allows consensus to be built with broad participation, and that can sensibly handle feedback from the wider LE community. EAGLES has been able to synthesise proposals and to provide recommendations, methodologies that can subsequently be tested out and applied in RTD projects and has ensured the beginning of a convergence of various projects in using common guidelines, so that their results are or will be reusable and exchanges may be accomplished, all with large-scale savings.
